RESPECT

Have you ever been in a situation where someone questions your beliefs, passion and dreams? Every time you try to speak and interact, the reciprocal action of the people around you is hate. What would it feel if you are doing your very best yet no one understands and appreciate your efforts. Do you feel respected when people are judging your every move and action without them knowing your real struggle, without them knowing the real you.
Respect. It is such a big word, easy to say. But it is hard to do for some. In our society today where social media dominates us the word respect is just an ordinary thing that some people ignore it.
Most people go through life and always hear about the word respect, but they don’t know what it means. Respect is the esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person. There are things in life you need to hold in respect. Respect for yourself, respect for others, and respect for property. Respect is taught to people everywhere and it is even taught to them in their religions. Respect is the very aspect that keeps everything in your life.
Respect for yourself is very important to a person because it can be the balancing factor of your life. Your actions mostly earn you respect, but it is always important to remember that it is a two-way street. It is considered ethical behavior, but in this day and age, people are becoming more evil and selfish. When you respect a person, then the person also respects you. For example in social media everytime something went viral you can see the comment it is mostly harsh and below the belt so where is the respect in that? We say something negative towards others as if we're perfect and good. We should not degrade other people just because it gives us satisfaction.
We tend to judge things we could not understand or fear. It became our natural behavior and reaction towards things. When a new ideal arises, some will react to it negatively and some will embrace it. Those who embrace the new ideal will be judged by those who oppose. That is when the lack of respect comes in. When disagreements comes in the eay of two people they tend to lose respect towards each other. When two different ideas collide, two people fight and then respect is lost totally.

In other words, in order to respect and be respected we should always open our minds to the possibility of change. We need to be empathetic and sympathetic at the same time. Before judging a person we should always think of their struggles and how hard they try to overcome those. Let us put ourselves in each others shoes and feel each others forceful effort to win in life's everyday challenges. Let us offer each other the respect we all deserve. As a human being that's the least we can give to someone. Everybody deserves respect regardless of their gender, age, race or their beliefs
